At present, it is true, we can find in stores with an infinity of quality projectors , with a series of quite interesting technical features, at really low prices. So we can get a decent projector and start enjoying it comfortably at home, to watch our favorite movies or any content that we have stored on our computer.
However, nowadays it is not entirely necessary to have a computer to be able to reproduce content and view it through the projector. For example, many projectors now incorporate the possibility of connecting to it wirelessly, which allows us to use a smart mobile phone or a digital tablet to be able to send the content and play it later.
The iPhone , for example, becomes one of those devices that can be very useful when it comes to getting the most out of our projector, since with the help of a Lightning adapter (to VGA or HDMI), or even Wirelessly, we can use the projector without having to use a heavy and cumbersome computer.
Connecting our iPhone to a projector with a cable
It is possibly one of the easiest and simplest ways to connect an iPhone to a projector, since in most cases it does not tend to fail or cause problems.
It is true that each projector has a video cable that is used in order to connect it to a computer, phone or digital tablet. And, sure enough, that is what we will use here. However, since the iPhone does not have, as you may have already noticed, a standard video port, it is necessary to use a compatible adapter.
Apple currently sells two adapters that are useful at the moment:
- Lightning to VGA adapter. It is an adapter that connects to the Lightning port that we can find at the bottom of our iPhone, and that connects to a standard VGA video cable.
- Lightning AV digital adapter. Instead of connecting to the projector via VGA, it is an adapter that offers us the possibility of connecting our phone to an HDMI cable.
Therefore, to connect our iPhone we will only have to connect the Lightning adapter to the phone, and, finally, connect the VGA or HDMI cable to the adapter and, finally, to the projector.
Of course, do not forget that not all projectors require or need a cable to be able to connect to them through an iPhone. In fact, many newer projectors offer the ability to do it wirelessly. Even though the exact steps to follow will depend on the manufacturer, in most cases we will use the WiFi connection.
