How to connect a Bluetooth mouse to Mac

Although having a series of messy cables on a desk was enormously common until a few years ago, it is true that with the advent of wireless keyboards and mice, calm and order has come to stay.

In fact, using this type of device in its wireless variant not only helps us positively when it comes to getting away from annoying cables, which seem to always be in the middle of everything. It also offers us the possibility of being able to move easily without depending on the extension or size of the cable.

In the case of a Bluetooth mouse , for example, its advantages are even greater, since it moves and feels much better than a wired mouse, also allowing us to move freely around the table or even use it with our iPad (or any other). another digital tablet).

Connecting our Bluetooth mouse to the Mac

In the case of a mouse with Bluetooth connectivity, it is vitally important that, before using it, we synchronize it and pair it with the Mac, as with any other similar device with this type of connection.

To do this, we must turn on the mouse and make sure that it is within the reach of our Mac. Although it will depend on the manufacturer and / or the type of mouse, it is likely that we will have to press a button (which we will find at the bottom of the device) , to put it in pairing mode .

Now we click on the Apple icon that we find in the menu bar, specifically in the upper left corner of the screen, and we touch the System Preferences button.

Then, click on the Bluetooth icon, and in case it is not yet activated, we enable the Activate Bluetooth option. If the mouse is activated with pairing mode, it will be displayed after a few seconds in the Devices section.

When it appears, we select it and press the Connect button, which will pair the device and end the pairing process.

Unlike the Bluetooth keyboard, which in the pairing process it is necessary to touch some keys to confirm the connection, it is not necessary to do anything else with our mouse. Rather, it will be up and running in a few minutes. Of course, do not forget something important: do not run out of battery.

Precisely to avoid running out of charge, a simple solution is to connect it to the Mac via USB to charge it. Unless it’s a battery-powered wireless mouse. For which the most advisable thing is to have different rechargeable batteries, to be able to replace them quickly without wasting time charging them.
