Baptized with the curious and peculiar name of Magic Mouse , it was on October 20, 2009 when Apple introduced its first multi-touch mouse , after the launch of its first iPhone and its first iPod Touch.
With this technology, the user is able to carry out a series of gestures with the fingers to interact with the Mac, such as scrolling across the screen, zooming in or out, or using the two usual and typical buttons, among other interesting functions. .
In addition to the functions it incorporates, one of its main features was the inclusion of a surface made of tempered glass. And, since then, we can find a second version in stores, baptized with the name of Magic Mouse 2 , which was released in 2015.
Since then, many users wonder when Apple will launch what will become the third version or generation of its mouse, although at the moment little is known about it.
If you just bought one, you may be wondering how to connect the Magic Mouse to your Mac or Macbook. We explain the steps you must follow to do it.
Connecting the Apple Magic Mouse 2 to our Mac
Setting up and connecting our new Magic Mouse to a Mac or Macbook becomes a process, actually, quite straightforward and simple, although the steps differ slightly depending on what type of mouse we are using.
If it is a Magic Mouse 2 , you must first connect a Lightning to USB cable or a USB-C to Lightning cable to the Lightning port of the device. Then connect the other end of the cable to your Mac or Macbook.
Once this is done, you need to make sure that the mouse’s power switch is in the on position (if so, a green indicator will appear under the switch).
Now click on the Apple icon to bring up the system menu (on the Mac or Macbook), and access System Preferences and Bluetooth . This will open the preferences window for Bluetooth connections.
When the device has paired with the Mac, the Magic Mouse 2 will appear in the device list. From then on, in this same window we will be able to check the device’s charge level.
If this is the first time you are going to use it, remember that it is interesting to let it charge to the maximum. Once charged, simply unplug it to use it wirelessly.
