The reasons why we would like to block a Web page in the browser that we tend to use on a regular basis can be very varied.
For example, it could be due to an untrusted website that has already given us a headache or two. Or that we have a child with an iPhone or an iPad, and we want to control the type of content they can access when they surf the web.
If you use Safari , Apple’s default web browser, it is perfectly possible to do it, and also in a simple and easy way.
Whether we want to automatically limit all adult content, close all websites except the ones we’ve specifically included on the allowed list, or blacklist specific websites, here’s how you can easily do that.
Limiting adult content
If instead of blocking certain Web pages, what you want is to try to prevent children from accessing links that could lead them to adult material, or if we even only want to prevent them from accessing a few sites, it is possible to use automatic configuration and blacklist function .
Of course, before we start, we must make sure that we have configured the Usage Time on the device we want to use, because restricting access to any content is specifically included within the new Restrictions function.
To do this, we must go to Settings , Time of use and Restrictions . Here we must mark the lever in green, and click on Content restrictions . Once here, click on Web content , and click on Limit access to adult websites .
Blocking all web pages and whitelisting only specific sites
For very young children, or when we only want to make sure that there is nothing accessible except what is specifically allowed, it is possible to disable everything and only add those sites that we consider absolutely allowed, such as Apple or Disney.
To do this, click on Settings , Usage Time , Restrictions and Content Restrictions . Now we click on Web content and choose only the option of Allowed Websites .
Now click on Add website , and add the title and URL of the personalized website that we do want to be able to access. We press Back , and we continue with the process.
