Some people like to use long texts to convey their thoughts and feelings but a great majority prefer to use emojis (many or few, that depends on taste) for this purpose.
Are there not enough? That is the opinion of the users. There are not enough options to fully express the full range of emotions that complex human beings present. Fortunately, the new emojis for 2021 have just been announced and there are more than 200 new ones.
Thus, the Unicode Consortium, the non-profit organization that oversees the emoji standards and is responsible for the new releases, has announced these 200 emojis that will arrive on our phones in 2021 in a limited release of “Emoji 13.1”. Yes indeed; The consortium announced in April that there would be no new emojis until 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic ravaging our planet.
Among the main novelties are a heart with a bandage around it or a heart on fire. Also included will be a gender-neutral person with a beard (this gender-inclusive design attempt offers three variants of the beard: a “person” with a beard, a “woman” with a beard, and a “man” with a beard, with the option of “person” destined to be gender neutral).
A large number of new emojis will be dedicated to “couple with heart” skin tones, which would also allow the representation of interracial relationships.
Other emojis include a face in the clouds, a face that breathes a sigh, or a cloud of smoke.
At what point will these new emojis arrive?
Updates could arrive anytime from January to October 2021, with the most complete “Emoji 14.0” bundle launching in 2022.
