How to download and create stickers on WhatsApp

The messaging platform owned by Facebook, WhatsApp, has various packages available for download (motivational messages, trees, mugs …). The stickers module has been very popular among its users since it was introduced in 2018. While some people do not use it because they are still unaware of its existence, others simply do not know how these stickers work and that is what we are going to explain today. We will tell you how to use, download and create stickers on WhatsApp.

There are several ways to create WhatsApp stickers, but the easiest are by downloading applications that allow you to create stickers quickly. It is possible to create WhatsApp sticker packages in less than five minutes, both on iPhone and Android, so the process is really simple.

Before continuing, it is important to note that third-party applications work very well, but we don’t know much about their origin and whether these applications will misuse the permissions we grant them.

WhatsApp sticker packs

If you want to download sticker packages on a phone with Android operating system , you have to open a conversation on WhatsApp and click on the emoji symbol, which you will see in the left corner of the chat bar. Next, you will see how several options are displayed at the bottom of the screen, among which there is one in the form of a half-glued sticker, with a half flap raised. If you click on it, you will see a “+” symbol, which is where all the sticker packages available to download on WhatsApp are located.

On iOS the process is similar. You will have to open a conversation and click on the icon with the same shape, like a half-pasted sticker, that you will have in the lower right corner of the chat bar. There, different stickers will appear on the screen and the aforementioned “+” icon on the right. If you click on it, different sticker packages will be displayed. Select the ones you like the most and download them to your phone.

How to create custom stickers

There are many apps to be able to create stickers to our liking. Today we will talk about one of the most popular: Sticker Maker . These are the steps we must follow:

  1. Download the Sticker Maker app
  2. Hit Create a new sticker pack (or stickers)
  3. Assign a name to the sticker pack and add an author name for the pack, in case you want to have the credit for creating the stickers.
  4. You will see 30 chips on the next screen. Touch any of them and then hit one of these options: Take Photo, Open Gallery, or Select File to choose images.
  5. The first option allows you to take a photo, the second opens the photo gallery of your device and the third allows you to select images from the file manager.
  6. The next step allows us to cut the image in a certain way. You can select: Free hand (to draw a shape manually and cut out the sticker), Cut Square, or Cut Circle.
  7. Once you’ve finished cropping, hit Save Tag.
  8. Once you have added three stickers, you can touch the “Add to WhatsApp” option. You will see a confirmation message on the screen once they have been included.
  9. Now open WhatsApp, touch the emoji icon at the bottom of the chat and there you will see your new sticker pack as the last in the list of added sticker packs.
  10. To delete a sticker pack, touch the sticker pack in question, hit the three-dot icon in the upper right corner and then Delete.

You are now ready to add and create stickers to your WhatsApp conversations.
