The popular mobile messaging application connects more than 1.5 billion people around the world. Two of the main reasons for the popularity of WhatsApp are that the interface is very easy to use and the availability on almost all platforms. The app keeps growing and offers new features every so often: the free voice calls or browser version of the app have made it the most admired free messaging app.
If we also take into account that currently there are many people who use more than one device at the same time (mobile and tablet, for example), more than the telephone, which leads many to wonder if it is possible to use one WhatsApp account on multiple devices or even on multiple phone numbers that can be on the same device.
Can we have the same WhatsApp account on two mobiles? Can we have multiple WhatsApp accounts at the same time? Surely you have asked yourself these questions at some time.
A WhatsApp account on two different devices
Many people use more than one WhatsApp account to manage their personal and professional communications. While it is true that you can try different browsers to access two or more WhatsApp accounts simultaneously, it is not really very practical.
Today’s smartphones come with slots that support dual SIM cards, allowing any user to use two different numbers on a single device. You cannot officially use two WhatsApp accounts on the same smartphone; However, companies such as Samsung and Huawei – due to market demand – are currently offering the Duel Apps or Dual Mode function, which allows users to run two different accounts of the same chat application as a viable solution.
Things to keep in mind if you want to use an account on several devices: If you have a dual SIM phone and you must select only one of the device’s numbers for WhatsApp verification, that is, you cannot verify the WhatsApp account with two numbers on the same device.
As the mobile messaging application does not offer any option to have a WhatsApp account with two phone numbers, if we frequently try to change the WhatsApp account between different devices we can get our account blocked the next time.
How to use dual WhatsApp on a single phone (names and locations on the device that each manufacturer uses for this function):
Xiaomi (MIUI): Dual Apps – Settings> Dual Apps
Samsung : Dual Messenger – Settings> Advanced features> Dual Messenger
Oppo : Clone Apps – Configuration: Clone Apps
Live : Application Clone – Settings: Application Clone
Asus: Twin Apps – Settings: Twin Apps
Huawei and Honor : App Twin – Configuration: App Twin
Putting it into practice
To use the Dual WhatsApp function on the mobile we have to open the Dual Apps configuration option on the smartphone; then select the application that will be duplicated, which in this case, we have said that it will be WhatsApp. Back on the home page, click on the second WhatsApp logo – you can see where you have the other applications – and you can now configure WhatsApp with a second phone number.
