Opel anticipates the new era of driving

In its commitment to technological innovation , within the field of electric and ecological mobility, Opel has presented a 100% electric vehicle with high autonomy, as it allows the vehicle’s batteries to be recharged, achieving a mixed range of 500 km. But this is not all, the firm is committed to emergency response, information and privacy with what it has called ‘the guardian angel of drivers’, and the OnStar tool represents another crucial step in the new era of driving and this tool wants to be part of the future of road safety, just as it has been doing for 20 years.

With Mobileye as the technology leader in software algorithms, systems-on-chip and applications for the advanced driver assistance systems market, the goal is to develop visual information processing to keep drivers safe on the road. roads, reduce the number of traffic accidents, save lives and revolutionize the driving experience by enabling autonomous driving.

The idea is that the new technology through Opel’s Onstar system is capable of interpreting information in real time of the exact location of the vehicle, and offering the user an experience of connectivity and personal attention in terms of vehicle diagnostics, downloads of itinerary to the navigation system, WiFi and assistance in case of emergency.

The fact is that Opel’s OnStar system serves more than 7 million customers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the US, Canada, China, Mexico, Brazil and recently in 31 European countries, including Spain.

In Spain, OnStar is available in the entire Opel range (with the exception of commercial vehicles) and there are currently more than 45,000 Opel vehicles circulating with the OnStar system.

In addition, in 2018 it will be mandatory for all cars to include the SOS button and Opel already has it. One more proof that it not only advances in technology but also advances in security.

Regarding the Ampera-e

The vehicle has already been awarded the ‘Paul Pietsch’ Award for its innovative technology, with the Ampera-e winning 41% of the votes. And is that the Ampera-e represents a visionary model as well as real.

The Ampera-e can be connected and recharged in a conventional 230V socket, recovering up to 20 km of autonomy for every 30 minutes of charging. If we do not exceed 60 kilometers a day, we will only need to plug it in every night without stopping to refuel.
