We have all read or heard on occasion that using a lot of the mobile phone can cause brain tumors. Or that it affects the health of the fetus. Or that it damages male fertility. But there is no scientific proof of such effects.
This is the conclusion of the latest Report on radio frequencies and health, carried out by the Scientific Advisory Committee on Radio frequencies and Health (CCARS), an independent Spanish body made up of experts in health, technology and telecommunications.
The authors of the report have studied hundreds of scientific investigations on the effects of electromagnetic fields of radio frequencies on living beings, and have concluded that the use of mobile phones is not harmful to health, since they emit a very low level of radiation electromagnetic.
Regarding cancer, they state that “the results of epidemiological studies in the period reviewed confirm that a higher risk of brain tumors is not observed in mobile phone users (…), nor in people exposed to radio frequencies emitted by the antennas of mobile telephony, radio and television “.
There is also no evidence that the fertility of men and women suffers from living close to the smartphone.
The results are significant, since we have been using these devices on a massive and daily basis for about two decades, long enough to have data on the effects of their radiation.
Wi-fi is harmless
Researchers have also found no relationship between health and the radio frequencies of the wi-fi networks used at work, school and home.
In addition, they point out that “there is sufficient evidence to affirm that the use of mobile phones is safe in the hospital setting as long as a safety distance (1 meter) is maintained between the medical devices and appliances used for the surveillance and treatment of The patients. Regarding the carriers of implantable devices (example: cardiac pacemaker ), the use of the mobile phone is safe although a safety distance of 15 centimeters must be maintained. The mobile phone antennas do not cause interference with these devices “.
