Both beginners and advanced users of the world of home drones share one fear: that their aircraft will crash and ruin months of work and investments in delicate parts. Solution: build the drone with LEGO pieces. And if it hits a tree, we put it back together.
That is the possibility offered by Flybrix, a start-up that sells a kit for you to make your own drone with parts of the most famous construction toy in the world.
The basic offer includes for $ 149 all the components necessary to assemble your aircraft, among other things a bag with 50 LEGO bricks and a figure dressed as a pilot, propellers (four, six or eight, depending on your preference), battery, a mobile app to control the device via Bluetooth (it can also be operated with a remote), a circuit board … Here you can see the details.
The software that Flybrix uses is open source, and that allows us to add functionalities to the "LEGOdron" in the event that we take a liking to the thing and want a more sophisticated ship to which, for example, add a spy camera neighbors to make nice pictures of the neighborhood.
And now, let's see it in action and meet its inventors.
