They discover the fossils of the largest animal in the world

After the recent discovery of the curious "Pinocchio Rex", now a team of paleontologists from Argentina has surprised with the announcement of the appearance of the fossil remains of the largest creature that has ever walked on the face of the Earth .

The remains, located in the province of Chubut (Argentina), were found by a local farmer by pure chance . Scientists from the Egidio Feruglio Museum of Paleontology came to the site to begin the excavation process, finally unearthing the partial skeletons of seven dinosaur specimens that correspond to a new species of titanosaur , huge herbivores that lived on Earth during the Late Cretaceous. , in the twilight of the presence of dinosaurs on the world.

This new species of dinosaur would have weighed about 77 tons , seven more than the previous largest animal in the world, that is, the Argentinosaurus, and would have measured about 40 meters from the head to the tip of the tail. Standing upright and with its neck stretched out, this dinosaur would perfectly reach 20 meters.

The new record holder, who lived in the forests of Patagonia 95-100 million years ago , has not yet been baptized, but “is going to be named based on its magnificence and in honor of the region and the owners of the farms that alerted us to the discovery, ”say the researchers.
