Spain is an incredibly rich country in terms of a variety of bird species. In fact, it is the second country in Europe in this area, and the types of sizes, colors, shapes and customs of the birds that inhabit the different areas of the country are countless.
Some of the birds that are easier to find in our day to day, especially in urban areas, are the singing house sparrows , the imposing magpies with their bicolor black and white body or even the classic pigeons .
However, the fan opens much more if we sharpen our gaze and we can find goldfinches, blackbirds, stortines …. But there are also in several provinces golden eagles, vultures, owls, larks …. The list is almost endless.
In 2019 the conservation organization SEO / Birdlife published a list that contained up to a total of 622 different species of which there had been records in Spain, the List of Birds of Spain, which had not been updated since 2012. Eight of them seem to have extinct since 1950, among which are the black canary ostret or the damsel crane.
However, there are still many others that we can enjoy and this is shown by these photographs taken by several Instagram users who have themselves witnessed how incredible many of the birds that are easy to come across are:
