This is how “Orgullosa” sounds, an unreleased single by Diomedes Díaz

The musical platform “Deezer” brought together great stars of vallenato to give their opinion on this new release and the rest of the songs that make up the new album, which bears the same name.

Today would have been Diomedes Díaz’s 64th birthday, and his voice is still present in the memory of Colombians. In addition, the country wakes up today with a pleasant surprise to revive its art: an unreleased song called ‘Orgullosa’, included in the recently released album that bears the same name.

The vallenato has dressed up because once again, after seven years without one of the greatest exponents of this genre, the Cacique’s voice has re-emerged and the maestro’s music is on everyone’s lips; even in that of his former colleagues.

For this reason, Deezer, the global audio streaming service, has brought together great vallenato stars to give their opinion on ‘Orgullosa’ and the rest of the songs that make up the album.

Thus, he has created a playlist called ‘Diomedes Díaz: Orgullosa (Tema x Tema)’ , in which you will find the songs interspersed with comments, anecdotes and memories of the artists Carlos Vives, Miguel Morales, Rafa Pérez, Omar Geles and Elder Dayán (son of Diomedes) and the eminence of the vallenato, Cocha Molina, who performed with Diomedes the original production of ‘Orgullosa’ and participates with the accordion in the new song.

“Diomédes Diaz was, is and will be the most important vallenato artist of all time. In Deezer , even after his death, he is among the 15 most listened to artists in Colombia, year after year. He is the one who has sold the most albums in the history of vallenato and, despite the fact that he left us in 2013, today leads the streaming charts in Colombia due to his great influence on Colombian musical culture, especially in times of local celebration. .

The production work for the new song ‘Orgullosa’ was by Humberto Chaparro and Guillermo Mazorra, director of the A&R department at Sony Music Andes. Both were collaborators of the Cacique. José Vásquez also participated in the instrumentation on bass.

Likewise, the album ‘Orgullosa’ has other important works by the master such as ‘Sin measuring distances’. “I have a memory, being very bare. Diomedes was also bald. I ended up in Valledupar at a party and saw Diomedes for the first time. A nice, charismatic man, he was an Elvis, everyone went crazy ”, recalls Carlos Vives.
