Jada Pinkett Smith: Unconscious on the set after using drugs

The 49-year-old looks back on her beginnings in the film business. At that time she drank a lot and also took drugs. In the meantime, she has changed her life, she says.

Los Angeles – US actress Jada Pinkett Smith claims to have lost consciousness many years ago on the set of “The Crazy Professor” after a dose of ecstasy.

“I went to work high,” said the now 49-year-old on the Facebook talk show “Red Table Talk”, from which she shared an excerpt on Instagram. After her breakdown in the mask, she stepped in front of the camera, according to Smith. “I told everyone that I must have had old medication in a vitamin bottle.”

By the time she was in her 20s, she drank a lot and used drugs, Smith wrote alongside the video. Her fainting spell would have happened after a weekend party, but he also woke her up: “That was a moment when I began to understand that something had to change.”

For the comedy “The Crazy Professor” from 1996, Smith had been in front of the camera with Eddie Murphy, among others. The singer and actress has been married to colleague Will Smith since 1997 and has two children with him. Most recently she starred in films such as “Angel Has Fallen” and “Bad Moms”. dpa
