Five futuristic airplanes

finnair-futuroOn its 85th birthday the airlineFinnairhas made a “trip to the future” to imaginehow will the planes we will use in 2093.

The most original by design is theFinnair A1700-2400 Cruiser, with a double tail and without wings, which takes the form of a huge flying saucer. It has capacity for 2,400 passengers, with space for restaurants, a gym, cinemas, shops and a beauty salon. And in addition, it does not need long runways since it can ascend vertically and even land on the sea.

He tooFinnair A600-850it takes off in a vertical direction, although unlike the previous one it is shaped like a crescent and has a capacity for only 600-850 passengers. Long journeys will be made in the supersonic planeFinnair A600-850M, made with ultralight and resistant nanomaterials and with all kinds of luxuries inside: “smart” seats that conform to our bodies, soundproof compartments, 3D screens and the Internet.

In addition to these more or less “traditional” aircraft, Finnair has designed ashuttlewhich will lead hundreds of tourists to afuture space hotel located in an orbit at an altitude of 500 kilometers, which will go around the planet every 9 hours and in whose rooms tourists will spend an average of 4 days in a situation ofweightlessness. And for personal and family use, Finnair proposes ahybrid of helicopter and three-seater plane, which could be active from 2020.

On the other hand, Finnair insists that none of these futuristic airplanes will generate carbon dioxide emissions, since all the energy is obtained from solar panels.

All five models have been published in abook, but also subject to debate among Internet users on the webDeparture 2093.
