Not only the American “Pretty Woman” actress, but also her Scottish colleague Tilda Swinton wants to award the facility in Los Angeles. The award ceremony is in the fall.

Los Angeles – The Academy Museum in Los Angeles, which will open in 2021, wants to award “Pretty Woman” star Julia Roberts (54) with an honorary award and honor her as an “icon”. The Oscar winner (“Erin Brockovich”) is scheduled to accept the “Icon Award” on October 15, the museum management said.

The director of the museum, Jacqueline Stewart, praised the actress for having played “iconic figures and unforgettable roles” in her long career. The award is given to artists who have made a “significant, global cultural impact”.

British director Steve McQueen (“12 Years a Slave”) and Scottish actress Tilda Swinton (“Grand Budapest Hotel”) are also to be honored for their services to the film.

Oscar winners Halle Berry and Lupita Nyong’o, film producer Jason Blum and screenwriter Ryan Murphy will co-host the awards gala in October. dpa
