In the course of the rapid spread of the omicron variant in Germany, the Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) recommends the second booster vaccination – for the time being, however, only for certain groups of people. This includes people aged 70 and over, residents of care facilities, people with an immune deficiency (from the age of five) and employees in medical facilities and care facilities. In Baden-Württemberg, these people should soon receive a vaccination offer.
According to reports from HEIDELBERG24*, preparations for the second booster vaccination* in vaccination centers and medical practices in Baden-Württemberg are already in full swing. Social Affairs Minister Manne Lucha confirms that they are still waiting for an official STIKO recommendation, but are already working on the formal implementation.
