Amazon Echo Buds 2: all the information about the new wireless headphones

Although the Amazon Echo family is popularly known for its family of smart speakers (with the virtual assistant Alexa included), it is very possible that you did not know that the brand also had its Echo Buds , wireless headphones that stood out at first because they had of different interesting features, such as surround sound, active sound reduction and, how could it be less, integrated Alexa.

Curiously, through the official version of the Amazon page in our country they were not sold, which is why few users knew of their existence. At least until now.

And it is that the company has decided to update its unknown wireless headphones to baptize them with the name of Amazon Echo Buds 2 , and that they incorporate a series of novelties and new features even more interesting and attractive.

Design and appearance of the new Amazon Echo Buds 2

According to the brand, the new Echo Buds are characterized by being 20 percent smaller and lighter than the first model. In addition, they have an updated design slightly different from the previous ones, since now they incorporate a kind of tab to integrate and better place them on the ear.

In this sense, the company claims to have designed them to be comfortable and practical enough to be used all day. And they seem to have achieved this by integrating a somewhat shorter mouthpiece , which improves not only comfort but also the pressure in the ear while we use them.

In addition, they are IPX4 certified , so their material is resistant to splashes, sweat and light rain . In this regard, it is true that they have reminded me of the Energy Sistem Sport, not only in design but also in external characteristics, since they were also designed with the purpose of being used outdoors and during sports practice.

Main characteristics and technical features

The brand has also integrated Active Noise Reduction (ANC) . And according to Amazon, the second generation Echo Buds is capable of canceling twice the noise than the first generation.

To achieve this, the technology uses a series of microphones both internal and external to intelligently estimate the sound pressure in the eardrum, which tends to directly correlate with the way we hear the sounds present around us, to reverse that signal and cancel unwanted noise.

It also comes with the integrated Alexa assistant , so it offers the possibility of controlling our favorite music (and much more) only with the help of our voice. What’s more, did you know that activating or deactivating noise reduction can be done with your voice? From there, it is perfectly possible to play music, create a reminder, listen to recommendations or podcasts and much more with the help of Alexa.

And its autonomy? These second-generation Echo Buds would have a battery life of five hours , according to Amazon. In turn, the charging case allows you to increase this autonomy up to 15 hours . And, according to the brand, a charge of just 15 minutes provides the equivalent of two hours of battery life. A case that, incidentally, can be charged via USB-C or wireless charging.

Price and availability date

On the official Amazon website in the United States, the new wireless headphones are available in presale for a price of $ 99.99 (for the normal version), and for $ 119.99 (for the version with wireless charging in the case) .

Of course, as is logical to imagine, these prices are temporary, having been launched for the promotion. For this reason, they will subsequently rise to $ 119.99 and $ 139.99, respectively.

In addition, they are available in a black version and a white version . And, although they can already be reserved, at the moment we do not know if they can also be purchased in Spain.
