Aldi Süd is planning a major project for Cologne: A branch in the Bilderstöckchen district could be expanded to include apartments.
Cologne – In Cologne * Bildererstöckchen, an Aldi * location could soon offer a lot more besides shopping. The branch in Osterather Strasse is to be expanded – but the discounter would like to "make more sensible use" of the property area of over 8,000 square meters. What is meant is a mix of uses of day care center, green space and around 50 apartments.

The Aldi project is currently in a very early planning phase. Before the expansion is actually tackled, the discounter would like to exchange ideas with residents, dealers, administration and political representatives.
