A storm is raging in the Philippines almost 1000 kilometers south of the capital Manila. Now he seems to be moving further west. The prospects are not good.
MANILA – A tropical storm in southern Philippines has caused severe flooding and killed at least 13 people. According to a spokesman for the local civil protection, the victims died in two towns in the province of Maguindanao, almost 1000 kilometers south of the capital Manila. Some were buried in their own homes by masses of earth. More people are still missing, it said.
Tropical storm Nalgae is moving west, the weather service said. In the western regions of the island state, heavy rains are therefore also expected at the weekend. dpa
