It has already received an award in France, and now the creators of “Corsage” are looking to the USA.

Vienna – Austria nominated the historical film “Corsage” that was successful in Cannes for the foreign Oscar 2023. Filmmaker Marie Kreutzer showed Empress Elisabeth as a woman “who has rough edges”, it said on Tuesday in the justification of the Association of Film and music business. Vicky Krieps (series “Das Boot”) was awarded an acting prize in the “Un Certain Regard” section at the Cannes Film Festival in May for her portrayal of 40-year-old Sisi.

The Academy Awards Best International Film shortlist will be published on December 21. The final nominations follow on January 24 before the awards known as the Oscars are presented in Hollywood on March 12. “Corsage” is also in the feature film preselection for this year’s European Film Awards, which will be presented in December. dpa
