Being a mother is as exhausting as 2.5 full-time jobs – according to the study

Motherhood is a full-time, no-pay job. A study has now investigated how labor-intensive it really is and found that being a mother corresponds to 2.5 full-time jobs.

Massachussetts – Working around the clock and not getting a cent of wages for it – very few would do that. Mothers do it anyway. Your job is more unrecognized than almost any other. A study has now put the feeling of many mothers in numbers. She has shown that being a mother is as exhausting as 2.5 full-time jobs.

The study was commissioned by the US juice manufacturer “Welch’s”. As mother.ly reports, 2000 mothers who have children between the ages of five and twelve were asked about their routines.

Full-time mother: almost 100 hours of work per week

All in all, the mothers spent 98 hours a week in their household chores, spending time with their children and bringing them up (* FNP reported), cooking and so on. Your everyday life therefore corresponds to the time required for several full-time jobs. The average everyday life of a mother begins at half past six in the morning and does not end before half past eight in the evening, as the Welch’s study shows.

A large number of the mothers surveyed also stated that they were happy to only have one hour a day to themselves – which is not always the case. Four in ten women said their life felt like it was made up of a never-ending list of tasks.

For many women, however, this full-time job, motherhood, is very fulfilling – although some compromises have to be made in terms of personal, time and financial resources. * FNP is an offer from IPPEN.Media.
