Representation is an important issue in our diverse society. People of all skin colors should have a place in children’s books, in politics and in the media. However, black people did not have this for a long time. Racial segregation was still an issue in America in the 1950s – today Black people have the problem that they are not heard or seen. Getty Images wants to change that and is bringing out the “Black History & Culture Collection” (BHCC).
BuzzFeed.de features images from the collection – of 11 Black women who were somehow ahead of their time.
