According to BNO News, the giant plane crashed into the sea about two miles south of Kalaeloa Airport, west of Honolulu, on Friday (07/02/2021). The plane had taken off from Honolulu International Airport twelve minutes earlier. The destination was the airport of Kahului on the nearby island of Maui.
When the pilots noticed that something was wrong with the aircraft, they wanted to turn back, but then had to make an emergency landing on the water, reports the American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

One of the pilots, a 50-year-old man, was rescued by the Coast Guard and taken ashore by boat, according to BNO News.
