Boris Johnson’s mother dies at the age of 79. Charlotte Johnson Wahl was a well-respected artist.

London – The mother of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has died at the age of 79, the British media has now announced. Charlotte Johnson Wahl died “suddenly and peacefully” on Monday (13.09.2021) in a London hospital, The Times reported, citing the family.

For Boris Johnson there is a person who taught him a lot about the world. In the past, the UK Prime Minister had described his mother as the “supreme authority” of the family who taught him to believe in the equal worth of every human being.

Born in 1942, Johnson Wahl was a well-respected artist whose artwork is on display in the Bethlehem Museum of the Mind and Oxford University. Her father was President of the European Commission for Human Rights in the 1970s. In 1963 she married Stanley Johnson and then became the first married student to graduate from Oxford University. Boris Johnson’s mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the age of 40.

Numerous politicians from Great Britain expressed their condolences to the family. “I am very sorry to learn of the loss of the prime minister,” wrote Labor opposition leader Keir Starmer on Twitter.

A Tories politician, Conor Burns, also commented on the death of the British Prime Minister’s mother: “It’s so sad to hear about the death of @BorisJohnsons mother.” (Yasemin Kamisli with dpa)
