Boygroup BTS wants to storm the US charts again

Conquer the USA with K-Pop. The seven guys from BTS succeeded in doing this last year. Now try again.

Seoul (AP) – The South Korean boy group BTS wants to conquer the US charts again with their second English-language single “Butter”. The new pop song by the group of seven was released as a single and video on Friday with a lot of advertising effort.

“We’ll do our best to get back to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts with ‘Butter’,” said band member Suga after the single was released, according to The Korea Times newspaper in Seoul. BTS also wants to start a new attempt to be recognized at the Grammy Awards in the USA, added bandmate RM.

Last year the boy band celebrated its breakthrough in the USA. With the piece “Life Goes On” she landed the first number one hit in the 62-year history of the US charts, which is sung “mainly in Korean”. “Billboard” publishes the US hit parade every week. According to the magazine, BTS had previously made it to the top of the US charts with the English-language title “Dynamite”, according to the magazine. At the Grammy Awards last March, they were nominated in the category “Best Pop Performance by a Duo / Group”, but got nothing.

“Butter” is an electro dance piece that has been pepped up with rap interludes. On the YouTube channel of their agency Hybe Labels, the official music video reached almost 50 million views within six hours.
