Capitol attacker identified as Noah Green, follower of an Islamist group on the internet

The author of the attack on the Capitol this Friday has been identified by the US authorities as Noah Green, from the state of Indiana. This is an African-American citizen who identified himself on Facebook as a follower of the group ‘Nation of Islam’, an American organization led by Louis Farrakhan and with tendencies close to radicalization. Both Green and a policeman were killed in the attack. The agent did it in the hospital, where nothing could be done to save his life after the attacker struck him and a colleague at the entrance to the Capitol and then got out of the car armed with a knife. The attacker also died after being shot by the officers. The two wounded policemen, one of them with a knife, were immediately taken to hospital. The deceased agent is William Evans, who had been in the body for the last 18 years. Capitol reopened Although initially the acting chief of the Washington Metropolitan Police Department, Robert Contee, has ruled out that it is a “terrorist” attack , the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, has expressed that “much remains to be determined” the nature of the attack. “My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of the Capitol police officer who lost his life protecting the symbol of our democracy, ”Mayorkas wrote on his Twitter account. A couple of hours after the event, the closure of the Capitol facilities was lifted, although a large security device is still deployed in the vicinity of the building. The US National Guard has made some 2,300 of its troops available to local authorities.On the occasion of the Easter holidays, most of the US congressmen were not inside the facilities.
