Lauter-Bernsbach (dpa) – In a traffic accident in the Ore Mountains with three cars and a subsequent tank explosion, nine people were injured on Saturday evening – four of them seriously.
As the police announced on Sunday, a 35-year-old in Lauter-Bernsbach drove his car in a one-way street against the direction of travel and collided with another car at an intersection. The violent impact threw him into another car.
Operating fluids leaked from the liquid gas and fuel tanks of one of the vehicles. When another car drove by, both tanks exploded. Adjacent house facades and a fourth vehicle were damaged by flying parts. Eight people in the vehicles and a first responder were injured. dpa
