The Cologne Carnival can be celebrated in 2022 thanks to strict Corona rules. The whole of Cologne becomes a customs zone from Weiberfastnacht onwards.
Cologne – The anticipation of the Cologne Carnival * is great for many. Numerous revelers will flock to Cologne* on the carnival days. A lot is allowed, but there will be no celebrations like before Corona. Some strict rules apply to ensure that Women's Carnival* (February 24) and Shrove Monday* (February 28) can take place safely. Individual areas of the city will also be cordoned off. And: Compliance with the 2G+ rules can be checked at any time.

The basis for the carnival in Cologne are the rules that specify the Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia*.
