In December 2021, three perpetrators attacked a delicatessen at the wholesale market in Cologne. The case can be seen on “Aktenzeichen XY” on September 21st.

Cologne – The whole of Cologne is preparing for Christmas Eve 2021 when three armed perpetrators stormed the “Mare Atlantico” delicatessen on the Cologne wholesale market the day before. They threaten customers and employees with assault rifles and pistols, even (accidentally) fire a shot and steal almost 50,000 euros. They then flee via the A4 in the direction of the Rheinisch-Bergischer district. To this day there is no trace of the trio – which is why the case will be reopened in the new program “Aktenzeichen XY” (ZDF) with moderator Rudi Cerne on September 21st.

File number XY (ZDF): Trio raids delicatessen shop in Cologne

Before and after the crime, the alleged perpetrators were observed by witnesses near the crime scene. The trail of the car with stolen license plates is lost on Raderberger Strasse. “Kripo Köln and XY show pictures of the perpetrators from the surveillance cameras in the checkout room, entrance area and in front of the shop,” ZDF announced in the run-up to the broadcast. The investigators hope that this will provide answers to the following questions: “Who can provide information on the identity of the people in the pictures? Who made suspicious observations around the crime scene?”

The police had already published mug shots of the three perpetrators in mid-September. The pictures show the perpetrators, some armed with assault rifles. Investigators are hoping for clues as to the identity and/or whereabouts of the suspects. The search for the getaway vehicle is also ongoing. It was not until the end of July 2022 that there was a similarly spectacular case in Cologne: At that time, a money transporter was attacked in the middle of the city. Here, too, the perpetrators are still being sought. (mo) Fair and independent information about what’s happening in Cologne & NRW – subscribe to our free 24RHEIN newsletter here.
