Climate crisis: Austrian online retail is testing reusable packaging

The new report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change shows clear and drastic changes in nature caused by the climate crisis. It needs deep action. One of them will be tested in Austrian online retail from today.

The Austrian online trade would like to switch to sustainable packaging for shipping. The “Green Packaging” pilot project has now been launched for this purpose. Starting from Österreichische Post AG, the trading companies dm, INTERSPORT, Tchibo, Thalia and INTERSPAR weinwelt are involved alongside the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Reusable packaging will now be sent to recipients by September 2022.
The commitment of the trading partners is great, BuzzFeed.at* reported on it.

A previous study by the University of Applied Sciences in Upper Austria found that the greatest emission savings are possible in Austrian online retail by setting up a reusable cycle. * buzzfeed.at is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
