Concern for the Queen: Queen spends night in clinic – palace spokesman becomes specific

Queen Elizabeth II is now 95 years old. Recently, there have always been concerns about her health. Now she spent one night in the hospital.

London – She is the most famous head of state in the world, has been on the throne longer than any other British monarch and yet she has little political influence. We are of course talking about Queen Elizabeth II. *. Now there are new worries about the 95-year-old: She spent one night in the hospital this week. What happened?

According to a statement from Buckingham Palace *, the reason for the stay on Thursday night was preliminary investigations. The Queen was already back at Windsor Castle at lunchtime and continued to be in good spirits, it said. She even did light work at her desk.

Queen Elizabeth II spends the night in the hospital – she had to cancel a trip beforehand

The PA news agency reported, citing palace circles, that the queen had been examined by specialists in the private King Edward VII hospital and had spent the night in the clinic “for practical reasons”. However, this should have nothing to do with the corona virus.

But despite the palace’s attempts to allay concerns about the Queen’s health, the events of the past few days are likely to cause unease among many subjects. It was only on Wednesday that Elizabeth had to cancel a visit to Northern Ireland for health reasons *. “Reluctantly” she followed the advice of her doctors, it was said from the palace.

Queen: Concern for the British Queen – she has still not lost her sense of humor

Most recently, the Queen had shown herself several times in public with a walking stick. In spite of her advanced age, you never actually see her like this; she last leaned on the walking aid almost 20 years ago – at that time she had just recovered from a knee operation. The last time the Queen spent a night in the hospital was in 2013, when she was being treated for gastrointestinal inflammation. The new stay should apparently not take that long either: an overnight stay in the hospital should not have been planned, but the medical team took a cautious approach, according to PA.

It was only on Tuesday that the Queen received business representatives at Windsor Castle and, according to participants, made a fit impression. In total, the 95-year-old had planned 15 public appointments in October alone. Now it will probably have to slow down a little.

Only recently, the Queen caused a sensation with her rejection of the “Oldie of the Year” award by “Oldie” magazine: You are always as old as you feel, the Queen replied. She is therefore afraid that she will not meet the criteria for the honor. In any case, the British Queen is not lacking in humor.

Queen Elizabeth II has had an emotional year

2021 was an extremely emotional year for the Queen. First, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan gave an interview that made headlines around the world. Only a few weeks later, her beloved Prince Philip *, with whom the Queen had been married for more than 73 years, died. Another great-grandchild of the British Queen was finally born in the middle of the year: Harry’s and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet Diana. (akl / dpa) * is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
