Novavax’s vaccine was the hope for skeptics. This should also convince opponents of vaccination. In Hamburg, however, the vaccine is now a slow seller.
Hamburg – The Novavax vaccine does not arrive in Hamburg at all. Vaccination dates for the new vaccine have been available since Saturday, February 26th. So far, only 200 of the 33,000 doses have been administered to residents of the Hanseatic city.
24hamburg.de reveals here why the low demand for Novavax is a big problem.
The Novavax vaccine was supposed to convince opponents and skeptics to agree to a corona vaccination after all. In contrast to the mRNA vaccines from Biontech or Moderna, in which the blueprint for recognizing and destroying the corona virus is carried into the body cells, Novavax is an artificial “dead vaccine”. In this case, no real, but a dead Covid pathogen created in the laboratory is administered, which is intended to teach the immune system to recognize and destroy the virus.
However, the Hamburgers have little interest in Novavax. In general, the number of vaccinations is increasing more and more slowly, which is due on the one hand to the fact that many people have already been vaccinated and on the other hand to the remaining skeptics and refusers. So far, 1.5 million people in Hamburg have been vaccinated. * 24hamburg.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
