Berlin/Düsseldorf – March 20 was planned for a long time as a so-called “Freedom Day”, which means that almost all corona restrictions should then fall in Germany and North Rhine-Westphalia*. But recently the situation has changed drastically. The incidence numbers are rising sharply again and are causing many debates. Some federal states such as Bavaria, Brandenburg, Thuringia and NRW are probably not planning to implement the easing as previously planned.

On March 17th, the Prime Ministers' Conference (MPK) will discuss the federal government's new Infection Protection Act. This should serve as the legal basis for the corona rules of the federal states from March 20th.
