A craftsman secures more than 1000 e-vehicles from Deutsche Post DHL. He wants to resell them.
Frankfurt – With its “StreetScooter” brand, Deutsche Post DHL * wants to become more climate-neutral, as conventional transport is not very environmentally friendly. Deutsche Post now wants to change that with various measures. In the future, however, the subsidiary “StreetScooter” will no longer supply the Deutsche Post DHL transporter fleet. Instead, Deutsche Post wants to purchase electric vehicles from other manufacturers, as reported by Bild.de. Now a craftsman from Hanover has secured more than 1000 retired vehicles from “StreetScooter”.
His goal: to resell the vehicles himself. It turns out that some of the vehicles are in almost new condition. According to the picture, they don’t even have 100 kilometers on the clock – other vehicles, on the other hand, have up to 30,000. The craftsman Bernd Biank is to offer the vehicles for 8990 euros each. In addition, they have just passed the TÜV and are ready to go. “From 50 pieces I give a discount,” he told the picture. Commercial customers should get the delivery vans cheaper. A real bargain: According to information from the Auto, Motor und Sport website, Deutsche Post DHL is also selling the vehicles to other companies for around 32,000 euros each.

There are even first buyers, such as a pharmacy, a hotelier, a cemetery gardener and a fishing club. Homeowners have also asked whether they can use the batteries of the former Deutsche Post DHL vehicles to store electricity for photovoltaic systems.
For the repair of the vehicles, the craftsman from Hanover hired three extra people to make the vehicles roadworthy. “We make seven or eight out of ten pieces,” says Biank.
