Neubrandenburg – A police officer is said to have mistreated a 69-year-old and her 33-year-old daughter in a dispute. He is also said to have set the younger of the women on fire. The 56-year-old official was arrested without resistance in Rostock on Tuesday night (October 12, 2021), a spokesman for the Neubrandenburg public prosecutor said on Tuesday. The Neubrandenburg District Court then issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder and grievous bodily harm against the arrested person.
According to the district court, the accused did not speak to the judge about the allegations. It should be “in the broadest sense an act of relationship,” as the spokesman for the public prosecutor of the German press agency reported. According to previous investigations, the man drove to the apartment of the 69-year-old and her daughter, his 33-year-old friend, in Neubrandenburg on Monday. There was a loud and violent argument there, as a result of which the 56-year-old is said to have mistreated both women.
Neubrandenburg: Police officer sets 33-year-olds on fire
After several beats, he is said to have set the 33-year-old on fire and then fled, according to the police. Neighbors who heard the noise alerted the fire brigade and retrieved a toddler from the apartment. According to the report, the fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire in the hallway of the apartment quickly. The 69-year-old tenant and the toddler were injured in a clinic in Neubrandenburg.
The 33-year-old woman was seriously injured and brought to a special fire clinic in Berlin. But you shouldn’t be in mortal danger. Injuries resulting from blunt violence were also found in both women, it said. The investigation led to the trail of the 56-year-old. Because there was “base motivation” and it would have been a “cruel manner of killing,” the arrest petition is attempted murder, the spokesman said.
