Denied entry – Man stabs MoMA staff

A 60-year-old wanted to go to the Museum of Modern Art but was not allowed in. Apparently he pulled out a knife and stabbed her.

A man stabbed two employees at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) after they refused him entry.

In the attack on Saturday, he injured both his back and neck. They are in the hospital – but in stable condition, the police said in the evening. The man had recently had his membership in the museum revoked because he had already behaved improperly twice. When he was therefore denied entry, the 60-year-old is said to have stabbed the two employees.

According to the New York Times, the suspect had not been caught early Sunday morning. The museum in the center of the New York borough of Manhattan will be closed on Sunday. dpa
