Diagnosing endometriosis: when it's all about the abdomen for a lifetime

For decades, Susanne Giese lived with unbearable pain due to the disease endometriosis, until she decided to have an operation.

Around ten percent of women in Germany suffer from endometriosis, and Susanne Giese has also had years of suffering. Endometriosis is a chronic disease and there is no cure. “I have suffered from the disease all my life. She ruined my life, ”says the 56-year-old.

For a long time, Susanne Giese did not feel that she was taken seriously by doctors or her own family – she sees this as a major problem. Many women still feel the same way today because the disease is so little discussed and taboo.

Susanne Giese reveals her story exclusively at Kreiszeitung.de

Despite endometriosis, her wish for a child is almost fulfilled, but a severe blow of fate prevented her from having one either. Today Susanne Giese lives pain-free and without bleeding. But until then it was a long road that challenged the 56-year-old again and again. * Kreiszeitung.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
