The Shortcuts application becomes a tremendously useful tool when it comes to creating and designing a series of functionalities and quick shortcuts to different iOS functions, which almost certainly offers many advantages.
With the arrival of iOS 14 , the last major update to the iPhone and iPad operating systems, it is now also possible to fully customize the appearance of the app icons that appear and are displayed on the home screen of our device.
For example, we have already explained to you on a previous occasion how to change the icons of the applications in iOS 14 , so that it is perfectly possible to add custom images to be displayed on the home screen, instead of the traditional icons.
However, did you know that it is also possible to change the color of the app icon ? In this way, we can fully customize our home screen. And, also, do it without too many complications.
Changing the color of app icons in iOS 14
First of all, we must open the Shortcuts app . Then, in the upper right corner of the app, touch + , and on the New shortcut screen, click on the Add action button.
We now look for the Open application and click on it when it appears in the search results. In the new page New shortcut , click Choose and, in the Choose application section, we scroll and look for the app whose icon we want to change.
Once chosen, we return to the New shortcut section , and the name of the chosen app will be displayed on the screen. We click on the three-point icon that we will find at the top of the page.
In the page related to the details, we change the name of the app. Then, we touch the icon next to the name of the app on the Details screen, which will open a section where we can choose the icon we would like to use and the color.
To do this, first, we touch Color , and then we choose the color that we would like the custom icon to have.
Then, click on Glyph and choose the symbol that we would like the app to show. We tapped Done and returned to the Details page. Now click on Add to the home screen , and a preview page will appear where we can see how the app icon would look. Click Add and the new shortcut will have been created on the home screen.
