Kansas City – A years-long neighborhood dispute has ended fatally in the United States. A 42-year-old man shot and killed his neighbor Sunday in Kansas City, Missouri, who was complaining about the mowing, according to the Jackson County Attorney’s Office.
The neighbor, a 41-year-old, was shot in the head and later died in a hospital, according to the Kansas City Star newspaper.
The alleged shooter was charged with second-degree murder – which is roughly equivalent to manslaughter under German law. He himself called the police after the shots were fired at his 41-year-old neighbor, the prosecutor said. The two men had been at odds for ten years, the accused told police, according to the Kansas City Star. On the day of the crime, the neighbor told him the lawnmower was too loud.
According to the public prosecutor, video recordings from surveillance cameras show how the 41-year-old arrives at his own house, which is next to the 42-year-old’s, and says something to him, but the neighbor then pulls out a gun and shoots him several times.
