Do you buy flavored milk? These are the brands with excess fat and sugar

Some brands in the market of flavored milk, which are aimed mainly at children, do not actually contain what they claim in their packaging, has revealed the Federal Attorney for the Consumer (Profeco) in a recent study published in the Consumer Magazine.

The agency analyzed 32 different products – between flavored milk and combined dairy products – and determined that many of the products contain a greater amount of sugar, are not actually milk or do not contain fruit, as they claim on their packaging.

These are the main findings of Profeco:

Flavor or fruit? The 32 products analyzed by Profeco comply with the declaration of their packaging. But Profeco assures that it is not the same to assert that the fruit is contained to that they have only the flavor. “We recommend that you read the label since some, although they present the image of a strawberry, does not mean that they contain this fruit, but rather that they match its flavor through flavorings,” says Profeco in its June issue.

“Identify if you want to buy flavored milk or flavored combined dairy product, remember that there are important nutritional differences”, also says Profeco.
