The arrival of spring means an increase in the hours of daylight and, therefore, in the secretion of vitamin D. The Medical University of Graz (in Austria) carried out a study with 2299 subjects that showed that those men who have high amounts of vitamin D also have a higher blood level of testosterone (the male sex hormone par excellence) and, consequently, experience an increase in libido. Starting in March, vitamin D levels rise, having reached their lowest levels in the dark winter.
On the other hand, exposure to light increases the secretion of endorphins , both in men and women. These neuropeptides relieve stress, lift your spirits, and stimulate sexual response. In fact, the State Association of Sexology Professionals (AEPS) of Spain ensures that sexological consultations tend to increase after the official entry of spring, which this year takes place on March 20.
