Dog Mowgli starts barking on the freezing cold night and will be a lifesaver

On a bitterly cold night, the dog Mowgli from Waiblingen barked until his owners went outside with him. Fortunately – because there was someone there who needed help.

Waiblingen – dogs are not considered extremely intuitive for nothing. Man’s best friends have often bailed out their two-legged companions. The young mixed breed “Mogli” from Waiblingen * in the Rems-Murr district * has now also proven his keen sense. On an ice cold night, when the temperatures were around freezing, Mowgli suddenly drew the attention of his owners loudly – and apparently saved a life (BW24 * reported) .

“It was 1 o’clock in the night last Thursday when Mowgli suddenly barked,” Mowgli’s mistress Sibylle Karschnik told BW24 . She was already in bed and her husband was just about to go to sleep. “Mowgli barked loudly and fervently, but we didn’t know why. After he didn’t let himself be calmed down, we thought that he might have to go for a walk again. ”So her husband set off again with Mowgli.

Nocturnal walk: Mowgli and their owners find helpless seniors in the cold

Out in the cold, Mowgli and his owner made a sad discovery: on the street not far from their front door lay a senior wearing only pajamas. “The man was about five meters from our house, at the end of a staircase,” Mowgli ‘s owner Sibylle Karschnik remembers to BW24. “You don’t know how he got there, maybe he has lost his balance.” Mowgli may have heard the man moan softly. “Our bedroom points in the direction of the path where the man was lying,” says Karschnik.

Mowgli’s owner quickly got the poor senior back on his feet. At first he looked disaffected, but then remembered that a neighbor has the spare key for his apartment. The senior did not want to call a doctor, so Mowgli’s owner finally took him back to the warmth. Meanwhile the man is feeling better again.

Mowgli’s story – from scared puppy to lifesaver

As Mowgli’s owner Sibylle Karschnik announced, she and her husband adopted the dog two years ago. As a puppy, Mowgli was found in a sewer with his two siblings in Romania. Mowgli was temporarily housed in an animal shelter in Winnend and was adopted by the Karschniks in November 2019 at the age of four months. “I saw Mowgli on a photo of the animal shelter on the Internet and I fell in love with him straight away,” Karschnik remembers.

After his adoption, Mowgli was initially a very scared dog. “We don’t know what he went through as a puppy,” says his owner. “When he arrived at our place, he couldn’t ride in the car without vomiting.” With a lot of love and understanding, however, Mowgli had become less insecure over time. The fact that the young mongrel may have saved a human life makes its owners incredibly proud.

Dogs: life savers on four paws – what would humans do without them?

Was it Mowgli’s good intuition that guided him? Its owner firmly believes in it. “He’s a creature of habit. A fly on the wall bothers him. When things are not what he is used to, he barks. “

Stories like that of Mowgli happen again and again. Only last year there was a similar case in Baden-Württemberg *: In Metzingen in the Reutlingen district, a mixed breed sheepdog rescued a walker from a hopeless situation *. * BW24 is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
