Donald Trump collects a generous pension from the state

Donald Trump is no longer President of the United States, but is entitled to a pension as a result. The sum is tough.

Washington DC – The legend of his wealth is something of a brand core for him. Whether golden fountain pens, golden apartments on Fifth Avenue in New York or helicopters and private jets with his name on them: Donald Trump cultivates the image of the super-rich multi-billionaire like no other.

After his election as US president, Trump had stressed several times that he would donate his presidential salary due to his immeasurable wealth and not accept any money from the country, which is poor compared to him. In fact, after his 2016 election victory, Trump donated his annual salary of around $ 400,000. The recipients were once the “National Park Service”, the federal agency responsible for the administration of the national parks in the USA. Mal the money went to the Ministry of Health Care.

USA: Donald Trump receives a pension from the state

But Trump has apparently withheld the pension he has received since his defeat in the 2020 US election by Joe Biden. This is reported by the US news portal Business Insider-

According to this, Donald Trump is said to have received around $ 65,500 pension entitlements since January 2021. In total, the elected US president is entitled to an annual pension of $ 221,400. The pension entitlements are administered by an independent agency of the federal government called the General Service Administration (GSA). The “GSA” also pays out the pension. A spokesman for the “GSA” confirmed the payments to the news portal.

Donald Trump pays employees with taxpayers’ money

Neither Donald Trump nor his spokesman Jason Miller responded to inquiries from Business Insider about what the former president had done with the pension money. But it is also known that Trump still uses taxpayers money for personal purposes. He finances at least 17 of his employees, Stephen Miller, former chief adviser to the White House, and Dan Scavino, temporarily serving as deputy chief of staff at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, through public funds.

Donald Trump doesn’t really need the money from the state. According to the US magazine Forbes, his fortune is not nearly as much as he likes to claim, but still around 2.4 billion dollars. According to records in the New York Times, he is said to have paid taxes in just two years from 2000 to 2017 – $ 750 each time. However, it is not certain whether these figures are correct. Unlike all other presidents, including Joe Biden, Trump decided not to publish his tax return. (Daniel Dillmann)
