In Mainz, a pedestrian wants to cross a busy street. A driver can no longer brake and captures the 22-year-old.

Mainz – On Thursday evening (September 29, 2022) there was a serious accident in Mainz. A 22-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured. According to the KreutzTV agency, the accident happened around 7:50 p.m. on Rheinallee in the Mombach district of Mainz near Kaufland.

The 22-year-old pedestrian apparently wanted to cross the Rheinallee. A 36-year-old BMW driver was unable to brake in time and hit the young man head-on. The pedestrian was transported to a clinic in Wiesbaden, but succumbed to his injuries.

The Rheinallee had to be completely closed for around 3.5 hours in the direction of the city center for the time of the rescue work and the accident investigation. (msb)
