Fire destroys the large hall of a tree nursery in Schenefeld

The fire brigade in and around Schenefeld (Itzehoe) responded to a major fire on Thursday evening. At the shepherd’s paddock, a hall is said to be in full fire.

Schenefeld (Itzehoe) – Several volunteer fire departments in and around Schenefeld (Itzehoe) were alerted to a major fire on Thursday evening, September 15, 2022, around 9:30 p.m. The warehouse of a tree nursery on the “Schäferkupplung” street is said to be fully engulfed in fire. Due to the strong flying sparks, the federal highway 430 (B430) had to be completely closed. At the peak, up to 150 volunteer firefighters were deployed on site during the night. Although the emergency services were able to prevent the flames from spreading to an office wing in the hall, the roof of the warehouse collapsed almost completely.
