Boris Becker has been in jail since the end of April. However, the former tennis pro has settled in very well there: The 54-year-old has not only lost weight diligently, but is also available to his fellow inmates with advice and action.

Nuffield – Boris Becker (54) has now served almost six months of his two and a half year prison sentence after being convicted of bankruptcy offenses on April 29, 2022. The tennis legend is now being held at HM Prison Huntercombe, where prison conditions are much more relaxed due to the low security level. Apparently, the 54-year-old has settled in very well there.

Boris Becker is “still doing well” – the lawyer talks about the sports star’s everyday prison life

Boris Becker is “continuing to do well given the circumstances,” Oliver Moser, the athlete’s lawyer, recently confirmed to bild.de. The 54-year-old now seems to have come to terms with his fate and is accordingly “fitting constructively into everyday prison life”.

The former tennis ace also enjoys a convenience that other prison inmates are often denied: “He is able to make phone calls and communicate with the outside world at any time. Further details of his prison stay are protected privately.”

Boris Becker in HM Prison Huntercombe since May – the most important information at a glance:

In HM Prison Huntercombe, everyday prison life is likely to be far more tolerable than expected: the facility is classified as ‘Category C’ and thus only accommodates inmates who are not at risk of escaping. Around 400 inmates are serving their sentences at the facility, which is near the town of Nuffield in Oxfordshire, southeast England. The prison itself was opened in 1946 and initially caused some negative headlines, especially after the turn of the millennium. In the meantime, however, the situation has normalized. There is a wide range of sports on site for social rehabilitation, and there is also a spacious visitor area.

From Boris Becker’s closest environment, however, it is said that the 54-year-old is extremely popular with his fellow inmates. The 1992 Olympic champion spends his free time with sport: the multiple Wimbledon champion is said to have already lost a total of eight kilos. He trains regularly in the prison gym.

In addition, the native of Baden-Württemberg works as a kind of temporary coach and teaches and advises about 45 prisoners in areas such as fitness, nutrition, discipline and crisis management. Thanks to an internal bonus program, this activity could even have a positive effect on his prison sentence. His ex, however, deal with completely different things: Because Boris Becker is in jail, Lilly Becker had to move out of her luxury villa. Sources used: bild.de
