Anyone who is only slightly ill should not have to go to the doctor. The Hamburg Medical Association continues to demand the possibility of taking sick leave by telephone.

Hamburg – If you “only” have a cold, you sometimes drag yourself to work because going to the doctor seems too time-consuming instead of curing your illness at home. The Hamburg Medical Association wants to prevent this in the future.
24hamburg.de reveals here how the medical association justifies the demand for sick leave by telephone.

Until May 31st, you could get sick leave from your doctor for up to seven days over the phone if you had symptoms of a cold. Federal Health Minister Karl-Lauterbach (SPD) has now demanded that this option be reintroduced because of the omicron wave. The Hamburg Medical Association goes one step further. She also calls for sick leave for other illnesses.
