Four dead in an avalanche accident in Tyrol – another person missing

Four people die in an avalanche accident in Tyrol – one person is still missing.

Spiss – Four people were killed in an avalanche in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Another person is missing, said the control center of the emergency services on Friday (February 4th, 2022). The accident happened in the Spiss area, a town on the Swiss border. Information on the origin and identity of the victims was not yet known.

Thirteen slabs of snow fell in Tyrol by the afternoon on Friday. In the popular ski resort of Sölden, an avalanche buried five winter sports enthusiasts on a secured slope. They were recovered alive. (dpa)
