Sophia Thiel’s (27) story moved all of Germany: If she used to show her well-trained body on numerous social media platforms, she is now committed to ensuring that women in particular feel comfortable in their bodies. But that was a long journey. She looked back on Instagram and compared two photos of herself – four years and a few kilos in between. A comparison that is currently splitting the network, as reported by tz.de.
Sophia Thiel stands by her body
For years, Sophia Thiel trained as hard as she could – from the chubby teenager to the most popular fitness influencer in Germany. But then the shock: The 27-year-old withdrew completely and disappeared from the scene. Subsequently, it was announced that Sophia suffers from “bulimia nervosa” – an eating disorder in which those affected suffer from sudden binges and then throw up compulsively.

But Sophia Thiel did not give up and fought her way back to life – she took her fans with her on Instagram and has been committed to the topic of “Body Positivity” ever since. In the course of this, she recently published a before and after comparison, which is quite something.
Sophia Thiel splits the network with a new post
In a sports outfit, the native of Rosenheim made the change in her body clear within four years. While she still looks like a muscleman on the left picture, on the right she shows a few kilos more on her ribs. A change that is currently dividing the web.
“You are beautiful, my love,” comments a fan on the picture of the 27-year-old. “I think you’re perfect just the way you are,” added another, while a third added, “I really like your shape today because despite the training it’s still so beautifully feminine.
You’re really a great role model for me.” But not everyone seems to see it that way: “It’s pretty fat, isn’t it,” asks a fan. “Bit chubby,” adds another, while another opined, “They want to stone me now. But I think left is beautiful… I just like bodies like that 😍. There is a lot of work and discipline behind it.”
Nasty body shaming in the gym
Sophia Thiel also recently experienced nasty body shaming in the gym. Because the fact that the fitness influencer now has a few more kilos on her ribs is not well received by every fan.
